What does the tabernacle of David refer to?=

It has Old Testament and New Testament implicati= ons.

Before the tabernacle of David was the tab= ernacle of Moses.

Let’s revisit the tabernacle of Moses=

Here the priest offered various sacrifices to Go= d

According to Leviticus 1:3 the animal was to be = male and without blemish

The lavor was a large basin containing water---a place for ceremonial cleansing

The priest were required to wash their hands and feet

In the Holy Place was the table of shew= bread, the candlestick and the altar of incense.

The most holy place was separated by the = veil and contained the Ark of the covenant.

((The mercy seat was laid on top of the Ark and the cher= ibum were on top of the mercy seat))

After the children of Israel entered the promised l= and the Tabernacle of Moses was set up there.

Remember that David wanted to see the retu= rn of the Ark but Saul did not.

What did David do with the Ark after he brought it from the house= of Obededom?

1 Chronicles 15:1

David built houses for himself in the City of David; and he pre= pared a place for the ark of God, and pitched a tent for it.(NKJV)

Since David was a man of war God didn’t al= low him to build the temple.

What was the tabernacle of David like?

A tent where continuous worship we= nt on 24 hours a day seven days a week.

None of the traditional furniture existed in the tabernacle of David except the Ark of The Covenant.

Isn’t it interesting that God didn’t instruct David to take the Ark<= /st1:State> to the tabernacle of Moses located at Gibeon.

The tabernacle of Moses was there intact with everything but the Ark which was in David’s tent.

Is it possible in today’s time to go throu= gh all of the ritualistic ceremonies but the presence of God missing?

David wasn’t interested in a wooden box or= the gold---but the presence of God.

This type of praise and worship continued in the Tabernacle of David for almost forty years.

After the tabernacle of David was King Solomon’s temple.

What is God’s attitude toward David? ----Acts 13:22 A man after my own heart w= ho shall do al my will.

What was God’s attitude toward the taberna= cle of David?

'After this I will return And will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, =

And I will set it up; So that the rest of mankind may seek the LORD, Even all the Gentiles who are called by

My= name, Says the LORD who does all these things.' "Known to God from eternity = are all His works.(NKJV)

God didn’t say He would rebuild Solomon’s temple or the Tabernacle of Moses

This rebuilding was prophesied by the prophet Am= os.

God’s liked the Tabernacle of David so muc= h He said I will rebuild its ruins.

What is the rebuilding of the Tabernacle of Davi= d?

If The Lord said He would do it----man is unable to d= o it.

The verse says ------I will set it up so the res= t of mankind may seek the Lord Even all the Gentiles who <= /b>

are called by My name.

But how will the tabernacle of David be rebuilt?=

John 1: 14 Says the word was made flesh and dwelt among us—(tabernacled)

And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile)

am= ong us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as= an only begotten son

receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth.(AMP)

Through Jesus Christ being tabernacled in the fl= esh and through redemption He established us to be temples of His dwelling.

1 Corinthians 6:19

Or do you not know that your body is the temple = of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God,

an= d you are not your own?(NKJV)

The tabernacle of David then is multifaceted.

Since Jesus was tabernacled in the flesh His resurrection is part of the rebuilding of David’s tabernacle.

Since Jesus was the seed of David ------or a = Tabernacle of David

Since we are the temple of the Holy Spirit we al= so become part of the Tabernacle of David in a spiritual sense.

As Christ was resurrection from the dead so are = we raised to newness of life.

Colossians 1:27 says Christ in us the= hope of glory.

Some people might think that the tabernacle of D= avid lost something to what existed in the tabernacle of Moses.

Tabernacle Of moses

Brazen Altar----In the tabernacle of David there are = no ritualistic animal sacrifices ---but we are to present our

li= ves as a living sacrifice according to Romans 12:1

According to Hebrews 13:15 We offer up the sacri= fice of praise which is the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.

Jesus Christ is the only one who can cleanse us<= o:p>

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just = to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.(NKJV)<= /o:p>

Candlestick    In John 9:5 ---Jesus s= aid I am the light of the world.

The light is not lost and excluded in the tabernacle of David----- but dwells in us. =

In John 12:46 Jesus said whoever believes in me doesn’t have to live in darkness.

As a priesthood of believers we proclaim His pra= ises who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light   I Peter 2:9

The Greek word for marvelous here means wonderful---worthy of admiration

Table of Shewbread   In John 6:48 Jesus dec= lares I am the bread of life

In John 6:58 Jesus said if you eat= of this bread you will live forever.

God rained bread on the children of Israel---(manna)

A place of prayer and intercession-----Hebrews 7= :25 says Jesus ever lives to make intercession for us--

The veil &= nbsp; Jesus body was rent on the cross.

The ark of the covenant contained three items

Aaron’s rod that budded<= /p>
The golden pot of manna

Tablets of the law----not the first but the seco= nd

All reminding us of God’s power and<= span style=3D'mso-spacerun:yes'> provision

The Mercy seat was on top of the Ark <= /u>

Titus 3:5

not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the

wa= shing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,(NKJV)

In the Tabernacle of Moses the blood was applied= to the mercy seat

Our hearts are a New Testament type of the mercy seat.

Hebrews 10:22 says our hearts have been sprinkled from an evil conscience

The Cheribum represent us as new testament worshippers----explain

We are each a complete Davidic tabernacle<= /u>. How? We are complete in Him.=

If He has made us a temple for Him to dwell, it’s according to His perfect design.

1 Peter 2:5

you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual

sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.(NKJV)

Not only individual tabernacles but have been bu= ilt up a spiritual house.

A rock lying in a quarry isn’t of much val= ue unto it is hewn into shape by the master builder.

We are made fit for a spiritual building through the redemption He provided.

Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ initiating the rebuilding of the Tabernacle of David-----and

through redemption we were made dwelling places.

We were made a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices.

But what are we missing if we stop here?     ((What happened = in the tabernacle of David?)))

Every item in the Tabernacle Of Moses represented Jesus Christ except one thing-------The Cheribum

wh= ich represent New Testament worshippers.

The Tabernacle of David would be incomplete with= out the worshipper.

In John 4:24 the verse said that the Father is seeking worshippers.

What is a worshipper? --------The attitude of a renewed heart.

Out of the abundance of the heart worship is pou= red out.
