A Heart Condition
Psalm
103:1
BLESS (AFFECTIONATELY, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul; and all that is [deepest] within me, bless His holy name!(AMP)
What
is within you?
God
what is my heart full of?
Bitterness
Anxiety
A
critical attitude
Un-forgiveness
Fear
Isaiah
61:3
To
console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy
for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may
be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be
glorified."(NKJV)
God
offers a supernatural trade-
Beauty
for ashes
The
oil of joy for mourning
The
garment of praise for the spirit of heaveness
Are
you willing to trade what you have for what He want you to have.
Blessing
the Lord comes from what is in your heart.
Can
God tell the difference?
Isaiah
29:13
Therefore
the Lord said: "Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And
honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their
fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,(NKJV)
Jesus
reiterated this sentiment in Matt 15:8 and in Mark 7:6
Honoring
with the lips with nothing inside to back it up.
Praise
cannot be manufactured by the intellect alone.
If
praise isn’t backed up by a right heart condition it doesn’t have a lot of
value to God.
I
have seen great illustrations of pageantry looking like all the right things
but with no heart to back it up.
Hearts
full of adoration pour out extravagant measures.
Mary
with the alabaster box broke it open and poured it out.
The
abundance of your heart dictates your response to God.
An
extreme love response doesn’t know limits.
Love
gives every ounce of capability. (all
that is within me))
If
reserved the love cannot be properly illustrated.
Extreme
love pushes past, pride, fleshly reservation, opinions of others.
Love
reserved and contained is love not adequately expressed.
Praise
Definition— expressions of approval or admiration, to
glorify. A verbal expression of admiration.
It is
characterized by celebration and exhilaration.
Worship
Definition
– extreme adoration and regard, extravagant respect and adoration. To regard with loving admiration and devotion
Worship
is a personal and intimate meeting with God, It is the act of freely giving love
to God. We meet God and he meets us.
Nine
Psalmic Worship Forms
Speaking
Shouting
Lifting
Hands
Playing
Instruments
Clapping
Hands
Standing
Bowing
Dancing
All
of these things can be done without an ounce of adoration.
These
are the things the flesh can do---but are only of value with the right heart
condition.
The
Greek word for heart is Kardia which has a broader
meaning that the classic definition for soul---which is the mind, will and
emotions
The center and
seat of spiritual life, the soul or mind, as it is the fountain and seat of the
thoughts, passions, desires, appetites, affections, purposes, endeavors; of the
understanding, the faculty and set of the intelligence; of the will and
character of the soul.
Your heart would also include your conscience.
Since true praise and adoration comes from the heart it is
manufactured in the heart.
Through receiving information our minds make a formulation
concerning God.
Through the magnificent concept of God we formulate a emotional response.
Through our will we make the decision that the praise or adoration
should be released.
Emotions expressed that are never separated from the logical mind.
Sometimes we praise God for all the wonderful things He has done for
us.
Sometimes getting thanksgiving confused with praise.
Based on our perception of God’s greatness and evaluation of who
He is our hearts get full of Praise and adoration that needs to
be expressed.
When something get worthwhile enough it will prompt you to action.
The
fact that His love is so incomprehensible
And
out of His love essence flow mercy new
every morning.
Full
of abundant grace
These
facts manufacture a need for a praise response.
True
Christians have this resident in their being
You
can’t help but fall in love with Jesus Christ.
The
more you get to know Him the more you will love Him.
Psalm
34:3
Oh,
magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.(NKJV)
God
cannot be any greater than He already is—What gets magnified?
Once
the love begins to flow there can only be more extreme methods to illustrate
that love.
The
banners that we use during worship aren’t because they look pretty.
My
heart needs a vehicle of expression ----a release of the adoration
There is a difference is singing about God and singing to God.
We
use both types of songs but will never neglect singing to Him.
Once
you begin to sing to God and express your adoration through what you sing
you will never be able to stay away from it.
When
you sings songs---let the song you sing reflect your own feelings to Him.
God
created singing as a vehicle of expression to Him that is very
powerful.
How
is this true adoration released?
From
spirit to Spirit ---our reborn nature----Formulated in our heart
Also
Expressed with our flesh in cooperation with our heart.
God
made benefits to us when we praise Him.
Hebrews
13:15
Therefore
by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the
fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.(NKJV)
How
are we to give praise?
Psalm
66:8
Oh,
bless our God, you peoples! And make the voice of His praise to be heard,(NKJV)
Otherwise
it’s just meditation
One distinctive of
praise concerns its extroverted nature.
His
Spirit initiated a consuming process.----We are not the same
Praising
and worshipping God directly benefit us.
In
worship we experience Him and are changed from glory to glory.
It’s
really the only thing of real value to God---something we do voluntarily that
is not tied to our salvation
Our
motivation why we do the things we do is important to Him
I
want to make a suggestion.
That
you participate 100% percent during our time of Praise & Worship.
Let’s
do something different.
Not
just because I am making the suggestion but because God is worthy.
Live
a life of praise and adoration to God.
