Resurrection Morning
During this time of the year we celebrate the wo=
rk
Of Jesus Christ.
There isn’t a greater event that has ever
happened.
Let’s look at the significance of what He
accomplished.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
For I delivered to you first of all that which I
also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, a=
nd
that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the
Scriptures,(NKJV)
Satisfying the wrath o=
f God.
He became sin who knew no sin.
2 Corinthians 5:21
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us,
that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.(<=

The scouring by the Roman guards alone could kil=

The flagellum was a cruel instrument with thick

Seven hundred years before Christ Isaiah foretells of His pa=

and redemptive work.
Jesus birthplace was prophesied, t=

He would be born of a virgin, that He would be pierced.
The fact is that Jesus Christ died was buried and
rose again.
In Genesis 3:15 Christ was the promised seed that
would destroy Satan’s power and lordship over man.
A seed has potential -----A seed properly
planted and nourished will spring forth.
The earth has a natural tendency to receiv=
e.
Remember the rebellion of Korah
that the earth opened up and swallowed them.
From the dust of the ground we
came---to the dust of the earth we return.
Remember that the blood in the Old
Testament was not to be eaten but poured out on the ground.
1 Chronicles 11:17
And David said with longing, "Oh, that some=
one
would give me a drink of water from the well of
Three mighty men put their lives in jeopardy wen=
t to
the well and brought the water back
David would not drink it but poured it out on the
ground unto the Lord.

Everything on this earth wil=

eventually biodegrade.
Everything above the earth will eventually retur=
n to
the earth.
After the crucifixion Jesus died and was
buried----The earth received His body.
But something is different------In Jesus
Christ there was seed potential
Each year we observe seeds that fall to the grou=
nd
and die.
Some seeds come up and some don’t
For the sacrifice of Jesus to be effective and h=
ave
seed potential it would have to satisfy God’s perfect standards.
There are 40 references in the Old Testament
requiring a sacrifice Without
blemish.
1 Peter 1:18-19
knowing that you were not redeemed with corrupti=
ble
things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition
from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb with=
out
blemish and without spot.(NKJV)
Why is the resurrection so important?
1 Corinthians 15:17
And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile;
you are still in your sins!(NKJV)
1 Corinthians 15:20-23
But now Christ is risen
from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of
those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came=
the
resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all sha=
ll
be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits,
afterward those who are Christ's at His coming.(=

For since by man came death referring to the fall =
of
Adam
By the man Christ Jesus the firstfruits
being raised from the dead
We bear the image of the first man Adam----(sin nature))
We will bear the image of the second man Adam=
because of His effectual work.
Ephesians 5:14
Therefore He says: "Awake, you who sleep, A=
rise
from the dead, And Christ will give you light."(NKJV)
This certainly refers to those dead in sin.
Sometimes those who have professed faith in Jesus
Christ fall asleep.
Arise out of your slumber to the full provision =
of newness
of life.
Jesus knew the work that He had to accomplish.
John 12:23-25
But Jesus answered them, saying, "The hour =
has
come that the Son of Man should be glorified. Most assuredly, I say to you,=
unless
a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it
dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who
hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.(NKJV)

A natural seed has to waste, be consumed, and ro=

If a seed tries to keep its life it remains alon=

Jesus the promised seed emptied and humbled
Himself---obedient unto death
Hebrews 12:2

If they had known who He was they wouldn’t
have crucified the Lord of Glory
The creator mocked by His creation.
On that resurrection morning nothi=

could stop what was about to happen
He arose
Romans 4:25 said He rose for our justification

O death, where is your victory? O death, where is

The resurrection of Jesus was the completion of =

He accomplished

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from t=

dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life =

your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you=

As a Christian your spirit has been made alive u=

God.
You are no longer dead in trespasses and sin.
You are not subject to the old nature but have
newness of life.
Matthew 16:26
For what profit is it to a man if he gains the w=

world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his =
soul?(NKJV)
Just like the prodigal son returned to the
Father---return to Him today
If makes no sense to go on without Him.
John 20:7
and the handkerchief that=
had
been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together =
in a
place by itself.(NKJV)
