The King Of Glory

In First Chronicles David was crowned King over = Israel and decided to move the ark back to= Jerusalem.

Jerusalem allegorically represe= nts the church, the body of Christ.

The manifest presence of God is supposed to dwel= l in His Church, His body.

In the 20 years that passed after the loss of the ark Saul the King never showed any interest in bringing the Ark of the Cove= nant back to Jerusalem<= /st1:City>.

David had a burning passion to see God’s presence restored to its proper place.

1 Chronicles 13:2-3

And David said to all the assembly of Israel, "If it seems good to you, and if it is of the LORD our God, let us send out to our brethren everywhere who are left in all the land of Israel, and = with them to the priests and Levites who are in their cities= and their common-lands, that they may gather together to us; and let us bri= ng the ark of our God back to us, for we have not inquired at it since the day= s of Saul."(NKJV)

The bible says that David and all the house of <= st1:country-region w:st=3D"on">Israel = played music celebrating the return of the presence of God.

2 Samuel 6:6-7

And when they came to Nachon's threshing floor, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. Then the anger of the LORD was aroused against Uzzah, and God str= uck him there for his error; and he died there by the ark of God.(NKJV)

There was a bump in the road and man’s effort went into effect

We can’t put our hand to a m= ove or the Spirit of God

David became angry because of what happened to Uzzah.

2 Samuel 6:10

So David would not move the ark of the LORD with= him into the City of David; but David took it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.(NKJV)

What does David have now? Pa= rtially transported glory.

2 Samuel 6:11

The ark of the LORD remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite three months. And the LORD blessed Obed-Edom and all = his household.(NKJV)

Obed-Edom received the Ark by default.

Because the glory could not be transported by th= e mainstream Obed-Edom now has the Ark or the presence of God in his dwelling.

2 Samuel 6:12

Now it was told King David, saying, "The LO= RD has blessed the house of Obed-Edom and all that belongs to him, because of = the ark of God." So David went and brought up the ark of God from the hous= e of Obed-Edom to the City of David= with gladness.(NKJV)

There is a blessing from the dwelling presence of God.

So David went and got the Ark and transported it in the right way.

So Obededom was kind of a testing ground for Dav= id.

When David finally learned how to properly trans= port the Ark, Obededom is mentioned.

1 Chronicles 15:24

Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zecharia= h, Benaiah, and Eliezer, the priests, were to blow the trumpets before the ark= of God; and Obed-Edom and Jehiah, doorkeepers for the <= st1:place w:st=3D"on">ark.(NKJV)

There were two other door keepers mentioned in t= he previous verse 23

If Obededom is a door keeper or gate keeper let’s look at what his name means.

Obededom means bond-slave

A bond slave was one who had been set free but h= ad chosen to serve his master for life or his own free will.=

During that time they would pierce the ear as an outward sign that a person was a bond slave.

Our ears are also gates that we ke= ep guarded ----only to be opened to the voice of God and not the enemy.

Our eyes are also a gate.<= /b>

Guarding our eyes from= the filth that the enemy would like to fill us with.

2 Chronicles 23:19

And he set the gatekeepers at the gates of the h= ouse of the LORD, so that no one who was in any way unclean should enter.(NKJV)

As Christians we are bond slaves to Jesus Christ.

Through redemption He has set us f= ree from the chains of bondage.

God does not demand your obligatory servic= e to keep your salvation.

With the bondservant attitude we choose to serve Him out of our own free will.

We are freed to choose to be a life long servant of Jesus Christ

But not only a bondser= vant but also a gatekeeper.

As gatekeepers we learn when to keep the gate sh= ut but also when to open the gate.

Psalm 24:7

Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted u= p, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.(NKJV)

This verse is speaking to us as gatekeepers=

We make the decision as a church body to create = an opening for the King of Glory.

We agree as a church body to open ours= elves to the King of Glory

That means we have no reservation = in our hearts to receive the fullness of Him.

As we guard the gates of our eyes and ears= we create an opening for the King of Glory.

We don’t allow full access to the King of Glory when were full of something else

How does this affect us as a church?<= /span>

Isaiah 60:11

And your gates shall be open continually, they s= hall not be shut day or night, that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations--and their kings led in procession [your voluntary captives]. (AMP)=

If you study out this verse they gates referred = to is the church

With the King of Glory present, we are in no fea= r of danger, attack or peril.

We open the gates gladly embracing= all who come in.

In a time of peace the gates of the city were left open

With the King of Glory present, the Price of Peace there is a supernatural opening cr= eated to receive who God wants to send.

Ps= alm 24:8

Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, The LORD mighty in battle.(NKJV)

Are we willing like Obedodem to open the gates to the King of G= lory

Is there some area of your heart t= hat you won’t give Him access to.

Is there some area of Him that you won’t l= et Him penetrate or occupy?

Your slightest reservation restricts His full access.

The limited access you give Him restricts the opening of the gates to other people you may be able to influence.

Without the full occupation of the Prince = of Peace we really can’t be open to receive what God wants to se= nd into our lives. <= o:p>

Are you willing to experience the fullness of wh= at He wants you to experience?

Are you willing to have an open and trusti= ng heart before God.

It’s an intellectual decision to completely open the gate.

Revelation 3:20

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him,= and he with Me. (NKJV)

This certainly refers to salvation but much more= .

What area of your heart’s door is He knock= ing on----but the door is shut?

If anyone hears My voice and opens the door a door is really a gate.=

What if everyone who came to this church opened = the gates fully to the King of Glory?

What if when the praise and worship started we h= ad 100% participation?

It’s our decision to open the gate.

What if I gave Him full access to the un-surrend= ered areas?

If we want to be a gatekeeper like Obededom, the= n we are individually willing to house the presence of God.

We fully open the gates to receive the absolute fullness of His influence.

God wants to have His full influence in every ar= ea of your heart.

Do you trust God in every area of your soul?

Your mind, your will, your emotions.<= /span>

Am I willing to open the gates to that hurt area of my soul?

What area is knocking on to be opened to Him?

What part of your will doesn’t He possess?=

How many want the full provision of God in your lives?

Am I willing to fully open the gate?<= /span>

This is critical information to us individually = as well as a church.

How many want the King of Glory to come in?=

Let’s open the gates.
