Spiritual Positioning

 

 

Galatians 3:3

Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are yo= u now being made perfect by the flesh? (NKJV)

Beginning our salvation in the Spirit and then try to live in the flesh does not work.

Our flesh cann= ot fight spiritual war.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5

For the weapon= s of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, (NKJV)

1 Peter 2:11

Beloved, I imp= lore you as aliens and strangers and exiles [in this world] to abstain from the sensual urges (the evil desires, the passions of the flesh, your lower natu= re) that wage war against the soul. (AMP)

Romans 7:18

For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is rig= ht, but I cannot perform it. [I have the intention and urge to do what is right, but no power to carry it out.] (AMP)

How is the strength of our spirit man compared to our fleshly nature?

Ephesians 4:30=

And do not gri= eve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. (NKJV)

Galatians 5:16=

I say then: Wa= lk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. (NKJV)=

Galatians 5:16=

But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God). (AMP)=

The spiritual = walk is accomplished moment by moment and depends on our submissiveness.

Romans 6:13-14=

And do not pre= sent your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselv= es to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of rig= hteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law= but under grace. (NKJV)

1 Corinthians = 9:27

But [like a bo= xer] I buffet my body [handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships] and subdue= it, for fear that after proclaiming to others the Gospel and things pertaining = to it, I myself should become unfit [not stand the test, be unapproved and rejected as a counterfeit].(AMP)

Romans 13:14

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lust= s. (NKJV)

We make our fl= esh a slave to the Spirit of God.

 

 

 

Ephesians 4:22= -24

that you put o= ff, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that yo= u put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.(NKJV)

Colossians 3:5=

So kill (deade= n, deprive of power) the evil desire lurking in your members [those animal impulses and all that is earthly in you that is employed in sin]: sexual vi= ce, impurity, sensual appetites, unholy desires, and all greed and covetousness, for that is idolatry (the deifying of self and other created things instead= of God).
