Our Christian Focus

In our Christian experience sometimes we focus our att= ention on the wrong thing

Colossians 3:2-3

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the ea= rth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (NKJV)

Why---Unless we set our affection on Godly things, they will never we soug= ht after in a proper manner

2 Corinthians 7:1

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us clea= nse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness = in the fear of God. (NKJV)

All purifying influence and all holiness proceed= from God.

However if we expect to become pure without any effort= it will never happen

No where in the bible does it say to concentrate on your sin

2 Chronicles= 7:14

if My people who are called by My name wi= ll humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked wa= ys, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.(NKJV)

Setting our affection on God not on our sin and failures

We don’t put our flesh into subjection= out of fear of hell but because we want to please Him.

1 Chronicles 16:11

Seek the Lord and His strength; yearn for and seek His= face and to be in His presence continually! (AMP)

Acts 17:27

That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might fe= el after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:(KJV)

I can focus on all my weaknesses------But there= is no help there

We are never going to be good enough for God in our own human frailty

The deeper your relationship with God ge= ts the less sin will dominate you

God’s intent for grace was to free you up to see= k Him.

Revelation 3:8

"I know your works. See, I have set before you an= open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. (NKJV)

We have a do= or open today.

There is nothing boring about seeking God . It’s the most fascinating adventure you will ever be on.= There is no obligation in this, only His love drawing us.

Song of Solomon 1:4

Draw me away! We will run after you. The king has brought me into his chambers. We will be glad and rejoice in you. We will remember your love more than wine. Rightly do they love you.(NKJV)

What freedom we can experience from this,-----never again having to concentrate on our= sin and weaknesses,

Our pursuit of holiness starts by seeking Him. God is opening the door to everyon= e here and saying come in. How can we resist?

1 Peter 1:8

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye = see [him] not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:(KJV)

God’s want you to come back to the joy unspeakab= le realm. It’s all about l= iving in a higher realm.
